Canadians, on average, don't do a lot of surfing... well, unless you live on the East or West coast - but even then there's only a few months of good surfing. Evangeline was born in Saskatchewan, prairie country, so i'm guessing her surfing time was limited. Luckily, she resides in Hawaii for most of the year taping Lost so at least someone gets to see her in a bikini.
